The prestigious event, held in August 2023, offers leading professionals and their businesses the opportunity to highlight their achievements, build exposure and support the expansion of their careers and companies.
This national awards program – which culminates in the black-tie gala event – helps forge closer connectivity between the sector and give greater visibility to the business of aviation in Australia.
Among the list of prestigious award winners, we are proud to share our very own Head of Flight Operations – Sue Osborn won the award for Female Rising Star.
Female Rising Star
This award recognises the female aviation professional who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to building a successful career in the aviation industry. It considers the activities, strategies and actions to create a point of difference to positively contribute to the development of their specific industry discipline and has demonstrated the potential for rapid career progression.
Sue began her career in the Aviation Industry when she left the Australian Army, after 27 years service, in 2021. Since then she has been working part time as Head of Flight Operations for Skyshows, as well as a Senior Consultant at Mirragin Consulting. Sue was the first person to conduct a Drone Light Show of 500 Drone in Australia and helped pave the way for others. She has been involved in numerous activities with Mirragin Consulting as well as continuing to strive for success with Skyshows.
Unfortunately Sue was unable to receive the award in person as she was conducting on-sight test flights for Brisbane Festival’s Drone Light Show. Lucky for her, Greg Tyrrell, the Executive Director of AAUS was ready to receive this on her behalf.
